Caxton Club announces association copy symposium

Other People’s Books: Association Copies and the Stories They Tell is in the process of publication, and will be unveiled Friday, March 18, 2011, from 5:00–9:00 pm at The Newberry Library in Chicago. That evening there will be cocktails and book signing, dinner, and a short program. The following day, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, also at the Newberry, there will be a symposium featuring three speakers and a panel discussion. Speakers include Heather Jackson (Professor of English, University of Toronto and author of Marginalia: Readers Writing in Books [2001]), Tom Congalton (proprietor of Between the Covers of Gloucester City, New Jersey), and David Pearson (Director of Libraries, Archives and Guildhall Art Gallery, London and author of Books as History [2008] and Provenance Research in Book History [1994]).
The book has 216 pages, 112 illustrations, and 51 authors have contributed.
