The 2009 Justin Howes Memorial Lecture will be given by Matthew Carter on May 28 at the St Bride Library in London. Carter will explain his debt to historic types, on which many of his own faces are based. The St Bride Library holds an annual lecture in memory of Justin Howes, a typographer and historian who worked extensively with the St Bride Library before his untimely death in 2005 at the age of 41.
