An hour and ten minutes of vintage letterpress footage

Metal Type is pleased to offer for sale a DVD containing almost an hour and ten minutes of vintage letterpress footage.

Films on the disk are: Typesetting (1961), a 35-minute film which explains, in some detail, how a linecaster works. It also covers tele-typesetting; Learning to Set Type (1959), a 10-minute beginner’s guide to hand-setting, aimed at the complete novice; Bookbinding (1961), a 13-minute film which covers restoring old books, marbelising, ruling, spiral-binding, and more; Printing (1947), A 10-minute “Vocational Guidance” film showing all aspects of the trade, large and small firms.
