Monday, April 27th, 2009

The Epoch Times reports on a father-son scroll-making business in Taiwan. The bulk of their employment comes from calligraphers and painters of Chinese calligraphy, who require scrolls. In the article, the father and son explain the ancient but little-practiced procedure for producing scrolls. The article is part of a series of articles about Chinese calligraphy in Taiwan. The other articles in the series deal with papermaking and learning the art of calligraphy.

Above: Matting and framing paintings and scrolls are the final steps in creating a work of Chinese art.
