Hermann Zapf at 90

The 35th Annual William A. Dwiggins Lecture celebrates the legendary designer Hermann Zapf in his nintieth year. Matthew Carter will assess Zapf’s contribution to type design while Jerry Kelly will present Zapf’s achievment as a master calligrapher.

Jerry Kelly Digitizes Metal

Designer-printer-publisher-curator-author and FPBA-member, Jerry Kelly, and his partner Helen Brandshaft, digitize classic metal faces and introduce some new designs by Jerry at their new company, Nonpareil type. In addition to Joe Blumenthal’s long-unavailable Emerson, they are also offering two of Ismar David‘s handsome designs. Be sure to visit their new digital endeavor and download a copy of their specimen book.
