Stretch your typographic legs! Contribute an item of ephemera to the deluxe copies of Parenthesis!
You are cordially invited to contribute an ephemeral piece to the deluxe edition of the next number of Parenthesis. The deluxe copies are hard bound with a portfolio which includes pieces of ephemera from various presses and printers, all in a slipcase. We are asking this as a donation of time and materials, with the object of having your work shown to an audience who might otherwise not encounter it. The ephemera can take almost any form you wish, but prospectuses are not encouraged. Contributions can be a reprint of past or present work, or a flight of fancy / something experimental.
We will need 100 copies of whatever piece you print, and you get a copy of the portfolio as a thank-you. Complete guidelines will be provided once your participation is confirmed.
North American Keepsakes
The North American numbers come out in the Autumn of each year, and keepsakes are needed by July 1. Please contact Suzanne Glémot if you would like to participate.
UK Keepsakes
The European numbers come out in the Spring, and keepsakes are needed by February 21 that year. Please contact Christopher Wakeling for details.
Please send a copy as soon as it is completed to Christopher at 9 Ravenside Terrace, Consett DH8 0LB, UK. But do not send the full consignment to him: he will advise you of the binder’s address when we bind.
So go ahead, throw some ink around, stretch your typographic legs!
If you are not a member of the FPBA already, that need not preclude your taking part, but please consider joining. The association is the only organization that is furthering the work of fine press printing and the book arts in both North America and Europe, and Parenthesis, which appears twice a year, is the only forum in which books from presses such as yours are reviewed and advertised.
