Turn the Page book fair features to-be longest book in Norwich

Longbook2016The book is now 13 meters long, but will continue to grow until 2018. Local artists supply pages, which are added to the book concertina-style.

According to the director: “This year, we will have the largest exhibition to date with a wonderful variation of work and interactive exhibits for visitors, who will see live demonstrations, a book launch and have the opportunity to try making their own print. Poetry readings and acoustic music will add to the festival feel in the stunning glass Atrium of The Forum.”

The event is at The Forum, Norwich (UK), Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25, from 10am to 6pm, and there is no charge for admission. Web site.

Antonetti to Northwestern

Long time friend of hand made books and personal friend to many of their makers Martin Antonetti has been appointed Director of Distinctive Collections at the Northwestern University Libraries, effective 1 July. In that role he will oversee Special Collections; the Art, Music, and Transportation Libraries; the Herskovits Africana Collection; and the University Archives. Martin has been Curator of Rare Books and Director of the Book Studies Concentration at Smith College for nineteen years.
