Pensionable Parrot Press celebrates Ronald Searle’s 90th birthday with the publication of a new book

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

English cartoonist Ronald Searle turns 90 today and FPBA member Pensionable Parrot Press is marking the occasion with the release of a new, limited-edition volume of Searle’s latest drawings titled, “What! Already? Searle at 90.”

Pensionable Parrot Press is run by Dennis Hall, who for many years was the European Editor of the FPBA’s journal, Parenthesis, and has had a long and fruitful working relationship with the great English cartoonist (Dennis has published several volumes of Searle’s drawings). As the current North American Editor — and a huge fan of Searle’s — I was very pleased to run Dennis’s lighthearted account of working with Ronald in our fall 2009 issue. Searle enthusiasts will want to get a copy of this issue as soon as possible: we only have a handful left.

The Pensionable Parrot Press website seems to be down right now but if you’re interested in ordering a copy of you can contact Dennis Hall at dennis@parrotpress.co.uk.

Happy birthday Ronald — and many thanks to Dennis Hall for continuing to publish Searle’s wonderful cartoons.
